Cardinals reliever Seth Maness needed six pitches to shut down the Giants in the ninth inning of a tied Game 4 of the NLCS on Tuesday.
cardsonclave.comSo, when Maness was pulled for Randy Choate to start the 10th inning, it frustrated at least a couple of notable Cardinals fans.
on Twitter, and according to Cardsconclave.com,
Choate threw a bunt away, allowing Brandon Crawford to score the game-winning run in the 10th.
Questioning manager Mike Matheny would have been a puzzling move by the 26-year-old reliever. Some Internet sleuthing by the blog got to the bottom of it.
It wasn’t Maness who was doing the retweeting, but his girlfriend, who hijacked his account. This probably was not a smart move.
Those retweets were quickly deleted and the girlfriend, Coleman Cox, deleted her account shortly thereafter.
