ANAHEIM, Calif. — CC Sabathia’s splendid season hit a speed bump Tuesday night when the Yankees left-hander was forced to leave a game against the Angels after four innings due to a strained left hamstring.

Sabathia, who was on a five-game winning streak and brought a 3.66 ERA into the game, gave up an unearned run and four hits in four innings. He walked one, hit a batter and fanned four. Giovanny Gallegos replaced Sabathia.

The Yankees announced the injury in the sixth inning but didn’t reveal when the injury happened. Sabathia needed an extra batter in that frame because Chris Carter’s fielding error extended the inning.

Sabathia landed on the DL late in the 2013 with a Grade 2 strain of the left hamstring.
