In the wake of Jorge Posada’s trip to the disabled list, Francisco Cervelli has been recalled from Double-A Trenton to replace him on the Yankee roster. Cervelli, a 23-year-old from Venezuela, has struggled so far this season with Trenton, hitting .190 (11-for-58) with two homers and seven RBI in 16 games.

Last year Cervelli became a household name after he was involved with a home plate collision with Tampa Bay’s Eliot Johnson in spring training.
