From JOEL SHERMAN

Ryan Church awakened Wednesday morning leading all NL right fielders in OPS (.946). Interestingly, No. 2 in the category was former Met Xavier Nady (.937) of the Pirates. One-quarter of the way through the season, Church is arguably the NL All-Star right fielder while Lastings Milledge (.652 OPS) struggles in Washington on both sides of the ball.

Omar Minaya has spent a lot of Wilpon money in his time as Met GM for players such as Pedro Martinez, Carlos Beltran, Carlos Delgado, Billy Wagner and Johan Santana. But his most positive legacy just might end up being the one-sided trades he made for Church/Brian Schneider and for John Maine, who won his fifth game Tuesday behind four RBIs from Church.
