A Citi Field security guard left Wednesday’s matinee game between the Mets and Braves after being hit with a foul ball.
In the top of the second inning, Atlanta catcher Travis D’Arnaud skied a Tylor Megill pitch into foul territory along the third base side, where it came down hard on top of the guard’s head.
Mets backstop James McCann — who chased the ball as it careened out of play — winced as it struck the guard, as did D’Arnaud, the former Mets catcher.
