PHILADELPHIA — Gary Sanchez was placed on the 10-day DL Monday after suffering a right groin strain in Sunday’s loss to Tampa Bay.

The Yankees recalled catcher Kyle Higashioka from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to take his spot. Higashioka went 0-for-18 in a brief stint with the Yankees last season.

In addition, Clint Frazier’s latest stint with the Yankees ended Monday, when he was optioned to SWB to make room for right-hander Giovanny Gallegos.

Frazier is 7-for-20 with two doubles in eight games with the Yankees this season. His bid for his first homer of the season was blocked by a speaker at Tropicana Field in Sunday’s loss.
