Clint Frazier, Thairo Estrada and Ben Heller are in Tampa working out in case they are needed due to injury in the ALDS or for the ALCS if the Yankees get there. Mike Ford, Jordan Montgomery, David Hale and Stephen Tarpley are scheduled to join the Tampa workouts soon.

After watching Aaron Judge make two diving catches in right field in Game 1 and seeing Giancarlo Stanton lay out for a ball in left field that he didn’t catch, Aaron Boone said his corner outfielders were fine and were in the lineup for Game 2 on Saturday.

Boone used starter J.A. Happ for an inning of relief in Game 1 and was looking to avoid using the left-hander out of the pen in Game 2.

A deep bullpen is built to avoid using a starter out of the pen in the postseason, but the Yankees haven’t ruled it out.

“You could still see our starters in some unique situations as this things unfolds,’’ Boone said.
