CHICAGO — With their playoff hopes long since conceded, the Mets have entered evaluation time as they open a three-game series here today against the Cubs. Among those players under the microscope the final five weeks will be catcher Omir Santos, who had two hits Thursday in a 10-3 win over the Marlins.

In the notes, Jerry Manuel says David Wrightwon’t play every day after coming off the DL. Manuel also expects the stubborn Wright to fight him hard on that.
