MIAMI — The Mets came from behind in the ninth inning to exact a little revenge on the Marlins with a 6-5 win Friday that had help from Daniel Murphy‘s two hits. The Mets don’t know if Murphy will be their first baseman next season, but they like what they have seen from him lately.
Hard-throwing Cuban left hander Aroldis Chapman was declared a free agent Friday, and the Mets — while fully expecting to be outbid by the Yankees and Red Sox — hope to be in on the action.
