LOS ANGELES — The Mets limped to Boston today for this weekend’s series with the Red Sox riding a four-game losing streak after Wednesday night’s 2-1 loss to the Dodgers clinched a three-game LA sweep at Dodger Stadium. Daniel Murphy‘s long-overdue move to first base from left field kicked in Wednesday, and the results were mixed.

In the notes, as we first reported on the blog Wednesday night, Jose Reyes was sent back to New York and could be headed to the DL.

Lastly, colleague Kevin Kernan caught up with a Mets fan who took his allegiance all the way into space.
