The Mets’ roller-coaster of a season took an upswing Saturday night when they used a clutch pinch hit from Brian Schneider (pictured) to rally late for a 9-4 romp over the rival Phillies and even this four-game NL East series at a match apiece. Colleague Mike Vaccaro goes into detail on Schneider’s crucial role in the Mets’ uplifting comeback in the eighth inning.

The Mets, though, can only hope Ryan Church’s latest bout with dizziness isn’t the sign of further — and more serious — post-concussion problems to come. Church had to be taken out of Saturday night’s game in the eighth.

In the notebook, David Wright told reporters that, if his expected All-Star berth comes through, not to expect him back in the Home Run Derby. There are also items on Johan Santana, Carlos Beltran and the Mets’ woeful record in one-run games this season.
