Yikes. The less said, the better about how Mets 5, Pirates 1 in the seventh inning Monday somehow became a Pirates 7, Mets 5 final thanks to Aaron Heilman (pictured) and the rest of a bullpen that was downright abysmal. Colleague Joel Sherman has a line on what the Mets will do with that bullpen. None of them sound particularly comforting.

Sadly, the bullpen woes wasted a strong outing by Pedro Martinez.

In the notebook, word is that the bullpen will get help Monday with the expected return of closer Billy Wagner. There are also items on Brian Stokes and Ramon Castro.
