I understand teams have to finish out their scheduled games but this one may be as unnecessary as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s self-serving NYC tour. No ticker-tape parade for Harry and Meg and no parades for the Cubs and Pirates either. All four have been royal pains this year.
The Cubs, losers of six straight, will start Alec Mills (6-7, 4.83 ERA) who has given up 10 runs in his past 8 ²/₃ innings. The Bucs’ Mitch Keller (5-11, 5.96 ERA) is 2-2 in his past seven starts and is coming off a win at Cincinnati on Sept. 21. The Pirates, expected to finish last in the NL Central, did just that. The Schlubs are 28-47 on the road. Play 10 units on the Pirates.
WAHOO! Cleveland played its last-ever game at home as the Indians and went out a winner. Amed Rosario had four hits including a homer and the Tribe crowned the Royals 8-3. Down -356 charboneaus.
