Curt Schilling spent Wednesday night on Twitter, in a pitcher’s duel with followers about the science of evolution.
Schilling logged hours upon hours sending out links to creationist websites and disputing the fossil record. In one tweet, Schilling called a follower a “clown.”
Schilling continues to recover from a debilitating bout with cancer of the salivary gland — which caused the robust righty to lose 75 pounds and which he blamed on his use of chewing tobacco. In Wednesday night’s seemingly unending Twitter battles, he seemed mostly back to his hard-headed and combative self.
In the midst of the social media marathon, Schilling also sent out an old photo of his surgically repaired ankle from the 2004 postseason, for naysayers who felt the “Bloody Sock” injury was overblown or condiment-enhanced.
