Another day, another win for the Brooklyn Cyclones, as the Mets’ NY-Penn League affiliate inches ever closer to yet another meeting with its cross-town rivals, the Staten Island Yankees, in the first round of the NY-Penn League playoffs.

Last night’s win, a 5-2 triumph over Hudson Valley, was Brooklyn’s 10th win in their last 11 games, and kept them a half-game ahead of the former hometown team of Bushes HQ, the Jamestown Jammers.

Brooklyn now stands 47-29 with two games left in the season. If they can hang on for the victory, it would be a stunning reversal of fortune for the Cyclones, who entered August hovering around .500 after fighting through injuries all season long.
