Dan Warthen didn’t stay unemployed long.

The former Mets pitching coach landed Monday with the Rangers, a month after he was informed by general manager Sandy Alderson he wouldn’t be retained following 8 ¹/₂ years on the job in Flushing.

The 64-year-old Warthen will serve as the Rangers’ assistant pitching coach.

Dave Eiland was hired last week as the Mets’ new pitching coach under manager Mickey Callaway.
