Travis d’Arnaud’s 2 ½-week exile is over.
The rookie catcher is expected to rejoin the Mets before Tuesday’s game against Oakland at Citi Field, the club announced.
In 15 games after his demotion, d’Arnaud was 24-for-55 (.436) with six homers and 16 RBIs. He was hitting only .180 for the Mets when he was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on June 8.
Either Anthony Recker or Taylor Teagarden will be jettisoned to clear roster space for d’Arnaud.
