“Big Papi’’ has taken his first steps since being seriously wounded over the weekend.

A rep for David Ortiz said the former Red Sox superstar walked a short distance, with help, while recovering from his second surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital on Tuesday, according to CNN.

Still, “He’ll be in intensive care for a while,” said the rep, Leo Lopez.

Ortiz, 43, was shot while sitting at a bar in his native Dominican Republic on Sunday, a crime caught on shocking video surveillance.

He underwent grueling surgery in the DR, then a second “exploratory’’ operation in Boston, officials said.
