The Elias Sports Bureau released its official free-agent rankings yesterday, and only two of eight eligible Mets — Carlos Delgado and Fernando Tatis — were declared worthy of draft-pick compensation.

Delgado and Tatis were classified as Type B free agents, meaning the Mets would receive one “sandwich” pick in next summer’s draft if the club offers the player arbitration by Dec. 1 and he signs elsewhere.

Gary Sheffield filed for free agency yesterday, becoming the sixth of eight eligible Mets to do so.
