LOS ANGELES — Carlos Delgado underwent successful surgery on his ailing right hip this morning in New York, and the Mets said in a news release that they expect the veteran slugger back in 10 weeks. Delgado had the operation at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan to repair a hip impingement, as well as a bone spur and a torn labrum.

GM Omar Minaya has scheduled a 4 p.m. EST conference call with the beat reporters to discuss the Delgado situation.
