Eight years after Derek Jeter’s retirement, his career will again come into the spotlight. And this time, we get to see it behind the scenes.

The Yankee legend’s documentary, “The Captain.” will be airing for seven episodes on ESPN starting Monday night. You can also watch it here on ESPN+.

The docuseries will come out over the next six weeks, with two episodes being released this week. The series will delve into topics such as how race impacted Jeter’s childhood and his journey from a kid with a dream to one of the greatest Yankees in franchise history. It will also show previously unseen footage of Jeter getting drafted and his time growing into a star.

“The Captain” will also focus on Jeter’s relationship with teammate Alex Rodriguez as well as giving viewers a look into the historic Yankees-Red Sox rivalry.

The series will also focus on low notes of Jeter’s career, such as “the most historic loss in baseball history.” There will also be a focus on Jeter’s life after retiring, including his brief time with the Marlins organization.
