The beaten-up, last-place Yankees got some good news Tuesday when they reinstated Harrison Bader from the IL.

Bader was in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against Cleveland in The Bronx, where they hope he will help ignite an offense that has been awful in the wake of injuries to Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton and Josh Donaldson.

Bader has been out since March with a strained oblique and returned at a time when the Yankees are in an ugly offensive drought. Heading into Tuesday, the Yankees had lost four in a row and seven of nine. And they’d scored just six runs over those four straight defeats.

Bader and Aaron Boone insisted the team-wide struggles had nothing to do with the timing of Bader’s return, and he wasn’t rushed back due to the lineup-wide slump.

“He feels absolutely ready to go,” said Boone, who added they would take advantage of Thursday’s off day then have Bader likely play two of three games at Tampa Bay later in the week. “He’s in a really good spot physically.’’

“[The team’s struggles] can’t be part of the equation,’’ Bader said. “It’s easy to fall into that … [but] I know what I need to feel to be effective. It doesn’t affect pushing the timeline up.”

The Yankees acquired the center fielder from St. Louis at last year’s trade deadline in exchange for left-hander Jordan Montgomery. At the time, Bader was dealing with plantar fasciitis and didn’t make his Yankees debut until September, but he became an unexpected force in the lineup during the postseason.

He has played seven minor league rehab games and went just 3-for-25, but the Yankees have liked the way he has looked at the plate — and are in dire need of help, especially after the loss of Judge to the IL with a strained hip.

Boone said Judge was expected to take swings again Tuesday after doing so Monday, with the plan he’ll be ready to return to the lineup when he’s eligible to come off the IL.

To make room for the 28-year-old Bader on the roster, Franchy Cordero was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Cordero, a bright spot early on this season, is 1-for-28 with 13 strikeouts in his past 11 games.

The rest of the outfield is mostly a mess. In addition to the injuries to Judge and Stanton, Aaron Hicks has been nearly unplayable, Oswaldo Cabrera has been a disappointment after showing promise after being called up last season and Isiah Kiner-Falefa, who never played the outfield before this season, has struggled again offensively.

And like Cordero, another minor league signing, Willie Calhoun, hasn’t hit.

Jake Bauers was called up from SWB last week, but almost immediately injured his knee making a diving catch on Saturday.

Boone said Bauers was close to being able to get back in the lineup.

With Bader back, the Yankees hope to be in a better spot all around, and Bader said he wouldn’t be limited, despite the extended absence.

“I’m not gonna tiptoe back into it,’’ Bader said. “There’s no walking on eggshells. I’m capable of playing my brand of baseball.”
