Houston Astros superstar Justin Verlander is paying the price for beating the LA Dodgers in last year’s World Series.
The pitcher ordered pancakes and eggs at a Beverly Hills restaurant Friday, but got served sour grapes — a $1 million charge for being a “Dodger Killer.”
Verlander posted a photo of the playful bill from the Cabana Cafe on Instagram, where it got over 80,000 likes and on Twitter, where he has nearly two million followers.
“#BeverlyHillsHotel really making me pay for that World Series win. 😂😂 Thanks for the great lunch as always!” he posted.
Though Cabana staff was playing with Verlander over their fee, they weren’t kidding when charging him a rather costly $9 for a skim latte, $10 for a cranberry juice, $30 for pancakes and $42 for a salad.
“$30 for pancakes? WTF!” snarked one Instagram poster.
Verlander is in La La Land for a weekend series against the Los Angeles Angels.
