Orlando Hernandez (pictured) is inching closer to rejoining the Mets. The club announced Tuesday night that El Duque’s next minor-league rehab appearance will be Thursday night for Double-A Binghamton. Hernandez, who has been sidelined all season by various ailments in his right foot, already has made two rehab appearances — once in extended spring and once for Single-A St. Lucie. He went 5 2/3 innings last weekend in his most recent start. GM Omar Minaya has said El Duque could be back with the Mets by early August.
