It may not be quite as bad as it was with Triple-A Buffalo, but Nick Evans’ horror show of a 2009 season is continuing following his demotion to Double-A Binghamton. Evans, who entered the season as the organization’s No. 9 overall prospect, his season never got started with Buffalo, where he hit .093 (7-for-75), hitting three homers but striking out 27 times.

With Binghamton Evans has seen slight improvement, but only slight. In 17 games (and 73 at-bats), Evans is hitting .219 with a home run and three RBI. He has also struck out 19 times.

If the last five games are an indication, though, perhaps there is light at the end of the tunnel for Evans. He’s hit .333 (7-for-21) with a double, a triple and three runs scored.
