Bartolo Colon is making the Mets’ fearsome rotation better, even when he isn’t playing.
Less than a week after the 42-year-old fan favorite added to his cult status by becoming the oldest player ever to hit his first career home run, Colon was credited by Noah Syndergaard as the inspiration for his two home runs against the Dodgers Wednesday night.
Let’s revisit that trot, shall we?
After Colon’s improbable home run against the Padres, Syndergaard called the veteran his “hero.”
And Syndergaard is not the only one being inspired by Colon. The 7 Line — a devout Mets fan group — posted a photo of a man who got a tattoo of Colon after supposedly losing a bet centered around the home run.
