Clint Frazier left a Triple-A game Thursday evening in the second inning after diving for a ball in the first inning. It appears the outfielder suffered a similar head injury to the one he suffered early in spring training when he was diagnosed with a concussion after colliding with the left-field wall.
The concussion kept Frazier, a top Yankees’ prospect, out of the big leagues until May 15 and he has played sparingly with the Yankees since then.
In 15 big league games, the 23-year-old is hitting .265 (9-for-34) without a homer, one RBI and a .743 OPS. Entering Thursday night’s action for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Frazier was batting .304 (62-for-204) with 11 homers, 22 RBIs and a .958 OPS in a combined 51 games for Tampa (Single-A) and SWB.
According to reports, he was feeling “light-headed” and is expected to see a doctor soon.
