Buffalo Bisons pitcher Nelson Figueroa, who has made some cameo appearances with the Mets both in 2008 and 2009, was named the International League’s Pitcher of the Week last week. Figeuroa struck out 16 hitters over 13.2 innings in two starts for the Bisons last week. He went seven innings and allowed one run on four hits in a win against Indianapolis June 8, striking out seven and walking one. He picked up a no-decision against Durham Saturday, allowing two runs on eight hits, striking out nine and walking three.

For the season, Figueroa is 2-4 with a 2.90 ERA for the Bisons, striking out 47 and walking 17 in 62 innings.
