The rosters were just announced for both teams, and –- no surprise -– Johan Santana got the most rousing reception from the crowd at Shea Stadium. It’s chilly and the stadium is only about three-fourths full, but that didn’t keep the crowd from giving Santana a standing ovation that last nearly a minute. They then loudly booed the next Met introduced, reliever Scott Schoeneweis.

The reception was decidedly mixed for Willie Randolph, no doubt the result of last September’s collapse.

Citi Field, by the way, now looms massively in center field. The windows look close enough that it looks like somebody could break a window with a long home run.
