ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Former Yankees pitching coach Dave Eiland has joined the Tampa Bay Rays as a special assistant.
The AL East champions announced the move Wednesday. Eiland was the Yankees pitching coach for the past three seasons, and he worked in the Yankees’ minor league system for five years before that.
Eiland pitched for three teams during a 10-year major league career that ended in 2002, including Tampa Bay, the Yankees and San Diego Padres.
