Mark Melancon had a 4.87 ERA in 15 games for the Yankees, but thinks their fans should have treated him better.

The relief pitcher, traded to the Astros in the Lance Berkman deal, told the Houston Chronicle he’s a lot more comfortable at Minute Maid Park.

“You feel like (the fans) have your back,” said Melancon, whose career record improved to 1-1 with the win in Tuesday’s 4-3 victory over the Mets. “It’s nice to pitch in that circumstance.”
