Frankie Montas is expected to make his Yankees debut on Sunday against the Cardinals.

The right-hander, whom the Yankees acquired with Lou Trivino from the Athletics on Monday, is currently on the bereavement list after the death of his mother-in-law. But he is set to join the team in St. Louis on Saturday and has been throwing bullpen sessions in the interim.

Aaron Hicks went 0-for-4 and was robbed of a hit in the fifth inning when his 106.6 mph line drive was snared by a diving J.P. Crawford.

The center fielder is now 0-for-23 with two walks over his past seven games.

“He’s still stringing together quality at-bats,” Aaron Boone said before the Yankees’ 7-3 loss to the Mariners Wednesday at the Stadium.

Aaron Judge got Wednesday off, ahead of an off-day Thursday, as the Yankees continue trying to keep him healthy for the long haul. Boone and his staff have been intentional about getting Judge a day off on either side of a team off-day to get him extra rest.

The Yankees held a moment of silence for Vin Scully before first pitch on Wednesday. The beloved Dodgers broadcaster died Tuesday at the age of 94.

“Nobody’s painted the picture better than Vin Scully — in baseball, but obviously a giant in all sports,” Boone said. “Anyone that had the pleasure of coming across him or meeting him, as I was fortunate enough to do many times, his kindness jumped out at you, resonated with you and stuck with you. That’s what I’ll remember.”

Zack Britton (UCL surgery) took another step in his long rehab process Wednesday, facing live hitters for the first time at the team’s minor league complex in Tampa.
