After spending the first two weeks of the season in extended spring training, Freddy Garcia will get his official Mets minor league debut when he starts for Triple-A Buffalo tonight against the red-hot Scranton/Wilkes Barre Yankees. The Bisons defeated SWB last night to hand them their first loss of the season, dropping the Yankees to 11-1.

Garcia, 32 and a two-time All-Star, barely pitched for Detroit last year while coming back from right labrum surgery. He’s 118-77 with a 4.07 ERA for his career between the Mariners, White Sox, Phillies and Tigers, winning a World Series with the White Sox in 2005.
