(UPDATED: 11:10 A.M.) With Luis Castillo unavailable due to the birth of his child, the Mets are reconfiguring their lineup for Johan Santana‘s pushed-back start today in Game 1 of a day-night doubleheader with the Rockies at Citi Field.

Alex Cora is moving to second base to fill in for Castillo, while Angel Berroa gets the start at shortstop behind Santana.

The Mets’ ace left-hander is still scheduled to face Colorado righty Jason Hammel, who enters with a 5-5 record and 4.28 ERA this season. Here is the 48-51 Mets’ order for the 12:10 p.m. game:

The Mets designated righty reliever Elmer Dessens for assignment today to make room for the call-up of Robinson Cancel. The club needed Cancel for catching depth because Brian Schneider is reporting knee soreness.
