The Mets look to pick up where they left off Saturday night when Mike Pelfrey takes on the Diamondbacks today at overcast Citi Field.
Pelfrey is coming off one of his best outings of the season last Tuesday against the Rockies. The big right-hander threw seven scoreless innings in an eventual 4-0 Mets win, striking out five and scattering seven hits along the way.
Pelfrey, who is in search of his first victory over Arizona after posting a 0-2 record and 4.42 ERA in his first three starts against the Diamondbacks, will take on Jon Garland. The veteran righty has faced the Mets just once in his career, recording a no-decision in June of last season. Here is the 50-53 Mets’ lineup for the 1:10 p.m. game:
