Game 116: Giants at Mets
Johan Santana will be looking for his 14th victory of the season and his third consecutive start of at least eight innings today when he takes on the Giants at Citi Field in the second game of a four-game series.
Santana is 3-1 since the All-Star break, and his 13 victories are among the most in the National League. Since July 5, the Mets’ ace left-hander is 4-2 with a 2.31 ERA.
Santana, who is 2-0 with a 3.10 ERA in three career starts against San Francisco, will take on Matt Cain. The righty has emerged as the Giants’ top starter behind Tim Lincecum, posting a 12-4 record and 2.44 ERA.
