Game 130: Mets at Cubs
CHICAGO — Rookie starter Bobby Parnell hopes to bounce back from two consecutive bad outings here today when he takes the mound against the Cubs in the second game of a three-game series at Wrigley Field.
Parnell is making his fifth start since being promoted from the bullpen and will be trying to make amends for his past two outings. In just eight innings combined against the Braves and Phillies in that span, Parnell has allowed 14 earned runs on 13 hits and five walks.
Parnell, who is 0-0 with a 3.00 ERA in two career relief appearances against the Cubs, is facing righty Ryan Dempster this afternoon. Dempster has been a disappointment this season, going 7-7 with a 4.07 ERA. Here is the 58-71 Mets’ order for the 4:10 p.m. game:
Angel Pagan CF
Luis Castillo 2B
Daniel Murphy 1B
Jeff Francoeur RF
Cory Sullivan LF
Fernando Tatis 3B
Brian Schneider C
Anderson Hernandez SS
Bobby Parnell RHP (3-6, 5.08)
