Bobby Parnell will try to redeem himself after an ugly outing against the Cubs in Chicago and three dreadful starts overall tonight when the Mets open a three-game series with Lou Piniella‘s squad at Citi Field.

Parnell has been nothing short of terrible since the Mets decided to move him over from the bullpen and test him out as a starter. The rookie right-hander has allowed a whopping 22 earned runs on 22 hits in his past 12 2/3 innings.

Parnell will face off against struggling Cubs ace Carlos Zambrano, whom the Mets beat handily at Wrigley Field last Sunday. Zambrano is 7-6 with a 3.91 ERA this season.
