Fresh off a sweep in Atlanta, the Mets return to Citi Field tonight looking to snap a five-game losing skid when they open a series with the Nationals behind Mike Pelfrey.
Pelfrey remains his incredibly inconsistent self, having given up eight runs on 10 hits in just six innings at Philadelphia last weekend after holding the Cubs to just one run in eight innings in his previous start.
Pelfrey, who is 3-4 with a 3.79 ERA in 10 career starts against the Nationals, will take on rookie Marco Estrada. The right-hander is 0-1 with a 13.50 ERA this season.
