MIAMI — The Mets will try to win just their second series since the end of July here today when Pat Misch takes the mound against the Marlins at Land Shark Stadium.

Misch originally was supposed to face Florida ace Josh Johnson, but Johnson — a career 7-0 against the Mets — was a late scratch this morning because of the flu. The Mets will square off instead against right-hander Chris Volstad, who is 9-12 with a 5.17 ERA this year.

Misch, meanwhile, is 0-2 with a 10.13 ERA in three games (two of them starts) against the Marlins. He won’t have much backing, though, as Jerry Manuel is resting David Wright, Carlos Beltran and Luis Castillo.
