Game 38: Mets at Dodgers
(UPDATED) LOS ANGELES — Veteran right-hander Tim Redding makes his debut as a Met here tonight when he faces the Dodgers in the opener of a three-game series at Dodger Stadium. Redding was activated off the disabled list today after being sidelined since spring training by tendinitis in his right rotator cuff. Redding is no stranger to the Dodgers, compiling a 1-3 record and 5.64 ERA in six career games against them.
Redding will face off against lefty Randy Wolf, who was a offseason free-agent target of the Mets before they settled on Redding and re-signing Oliver Perez.
Wolf is in his first season with the Dodgers but is very familiar to the Mets, having put together an 11-5 record and 3.34 ERA in 28 career matchups.
As for the lineup, Jose Reyes will miss his fifth consecutive game with a calf injury. Alex Cora‘s late trip to the DL also caused some shuffling, with Angel Pagan now leading off and Ramon Martinez filling in at shortstop.
Here is the 21-16 Mets’ order for the 10:10 p.m. game:
Angel Pagan LF
Luis Castillo 2B
Carlos Beltran CF
Gary Sheffield RF
David Wright 3B
Fernando Tatis 1B

Tim Redding RHP (debut)
The 26-13 Dodgers will counter with:
