Despite Saturday’s loss, the Mets are still in line for a series win today when John Maine takes the mound against the Marlins at Citi Field. Maine got off to a shaky beginning this season due to a comeback from shoulder surgery but has caught fire lately, posting a 4-1 record and 2.75 ERA in his past six starts.

Maine also has a history of success against the Fish, going 4-1 with a 2.49 ERA in eight career outings. That includes a 1-0 mark in two starts versus Florida this season.

Maine will be opposed by Marlins right-hander Chris Volstad, who has won his past two starts after a personal three-game losing streak. Volstad is 1-0 with a 0.73 in two career starts against the Amazin’s.
