(UPDATED) Besieged by injuries, the Mets will be hoping for another lift from a rejuvenated Livan Hernandez tonight when he takes on Joba Chamberlain in the opener of the Subway Series at new Yankee Stadium. Hernandez has been a revelation since making the rotation out of spring training as a non-roster invitee and is 2-0 with a 1.57 ERA in his past four starts. The Mets are 7-4 in Hernandez’s 11 starts overall.

Hernandez will face off against Chamberlain, the Yankees’ big right-hander who is making his 12th start of the season and 24th overall. He has faced the Mets only once, throwing one inning of one-run ball at old Yankee Stadium on May 17, 2008.
