As expected, Ryan Church came off the DL this morning and is in the lineup for today’s finale of the Subway Series at Shea Stadium. Church had been sidelined since June 6 with post-concussion syndrome but made two minor-league rehab assignments this week and pronounced himself ready to go. The Mets put outfielder Trot Nixon on the DL with a groin strain to make room for Church.

This is also a crucial start for erratic Mets lefty Oliver Perez, who was put on notice by Jerry Manuel before the game that another bad loss could cause the Mets to take Perez out of the rotation.

Here is Manuel’s lineup for the 39-41 Mets:

Jose Reyes SS

Luis Castillo 2B

David Wright 3B

Carlos Beltran CF

Carlos Delgado 1B

Ryan Church RF

Endy Chavez LF

Brian Schneider C

Oliver Perez LHP (5-5, 5.29)

Joe Girardi and the 44-37 Yankees are going with this look:

Johnny Damon LF

Derek Jeter SS

Alex Rodriguez 3B

Jorge Posada 1B

Wilson Betemit 2B

Melky Cabrera CF

Jose Molina C

Justin Christian LF

Darrell Rasner RHP (4-5, 4.50)
