The Mets are hoping their late-inning magic Saturday night carries over this afternoon here in Philadelphia when Oliver Perez (pictured) takes on the Phillies’ Kyle Kendrick at Citizens Bank Park. Perez, you will recall, is coming off that terrific outing at Shea Stadium last Sunday against the Yankees that all but saved Perez a spot in the rotation. Jerry Manuel said Perez threw two side sessions this week to keep him fresh during the extended rest.

As mentioned earlier, Ryan Church is out of the lineup due to dizziness due to what he says are migraines. As a result, Carlos Delgado is moving back to the No. 5 spot in the lineup, at least for one day.

Manuel also is giving Brian Schneider the start at catcher after Schneider’s clutch, two-run double Saturday night in a pinch-hit role.
