The Mets will try to keep their surge alive tonight when Mike Pelfrey (pictured) takes on Giants ace Tim “The Freak” Lincecum at Shea Stadium. Pelfrey has bounced back from a 2-6 start and is pitching as well as any starter on the Mets’ staff. He will need to continue that roll against Lincecum, who is a serious contender for the NL’s Cy Young award.

Lincecum had originally been scheduled by the Giants to face Johan Santana on Wednesday, but they moved up his start one day.
