Game 93: Mets at Nationals
(UPDATED: 3:20 P.M.) WASHINGTON — Oliver Perez will be in search of his third consecutive respectable start since coming off the disabled list when the Mets take on the last-place Nationals here tonight at Nationals Park.
Perez, who was yanked from the rotation and put on the DL in early May, has allowed just five earned runs in 11 innings over his past two starts. He got a no-decision in his most recent outing last weekend in Atlanta, giving up three runs in five innings.
Perez has a history of problems with Washington, though, posting just a 3-4 record with a 7.29 ERA in nine career starts against them. Perez will face off against Nationals lefty John Lannan, a Long Island native who is making his eighth career start against the Mets. Lannan has won four of his past six decisions overall this season but is just 2-3 with a 4.54 ERA in his career versus the Amazin’s.
