PORT ST. LUCIE — It’s hard to see Freddy Garcia lasting in the Mets’ camp much longer. Garcia struggled for the second straight outing here today against the Cardinals, giving up two homers in two innings and topping out at 87 mph with his fastball on the radar guns I was watching. His off-speed stuff was in the mid-60s. Chris Duncan‘s three-run shot off Garcia in the first inning even appeared to clear the berm in right field. Garcia, who is in camp on a minor-league invitation, is now out of the game. … 3:30 P.M. UPDATE: Garcia has now given up six runs in 2 2/3 innings this spring in his bid to become the Mets’ fifth starter.
