It appears Gary Sanchez’s stay in Minnesota will be a short one.

After getting traded from the Yankees to the Twins in March, the club is ready to move on from the struggling catcher, according to multiple reports. Given the two-time All-Star’s woeful numbers this season, it’s easy to see why.

Sanchez was even worse at the plate this year than last, hitting .205 with a .659 OPS and 16 home runs — the fewest he’s had in any full season in the bigs.

Sanchez finished second in the Rookie of the Year voting in 2016 but had a roller coaster six years in the Bronx. He hit .204 with a .730 OPS in his final season with the Yankees in 2021. The 29-year-old will be a free agent this winter after making $9 million this season.

The Twins, meanwhile, will look for another catcher to pair with 25-year-old Ryan Jeffers, who missed the second half of the season with a broken thumb and was more effective in a platoon role.

Sanchez – who along with third baseman Gio Urshela was sent to Minnesota in a blockbuster deal for Josh Donaldson, Isiah Kiner-Falefa and catcher Ben Rortvedt – might not be the only former Yankee on the move from Minnesota, either.

Urshela, who slashed .285/.338/.429 this season with the Twins, is set for a pay increase in arbitration, and Minnesota rookie infielder Jose Miranda would be a much cheaper option.
