Gary Sanchez didn’t commit a passed ball in his first 10 games behind the plate this season before one got by him on Tuesday — and he allowed two more in the Yankees’ 4-3 win over the Blue Jays on Thursday night at the Stadium.

Sabathia took the blame for the first one Thursday, saying he should have asked Sanchez to come out to the mound to get the sign.

Nevertheless, manager Aaron Boone said Sanchez is “in a good place.”

The Yankees have other defensive issues, with an AL-worst 18 errors, which they will address before Friday’s game. Boone said the added work session was planned last week and will include relays and pitcher defense.

“It’s something we have to continue to work at,” Boone said. “Early on, we’ve had some personnel issues where we’ve had a lot of guys moving around [and] that’s probably contributed to that a little bit, but that’s something we need to improve overall if we’re gonna be an elite-level team.”

Miguel Andujar, coming off three straight games with multiple extra-base hits, didn’t play Thursday, with Boone noting Toronto right-hander Aaron Sanchez’s experience. Andujar has been the primary third baseman in Brandon Drury’s absence, but he continues to also take work at first base. Drury (migraines, blurred vision) took batting practice and did defensive drills.

Clint Frazier (concussion) was scheduled to go through a full batting practice and defensive drills with Single-A Tampa and could begin getting at-bats in games there “maybe at some point in the very near future,” according to Boone, while Jacoby Ellsbury (hip) is “slow-going.”
